Burlesque and hockey team up again at Puck and Grind, a fundraiser for LGBT charities.

On Friday, August 2nd, 2019, at 9:00 p.m at the Call Bar (1547 W. Bryn Mawr) we will have some of Chicago’s finest burlesque performers drop more than their gloves while Schuyler Jackson Band plays covers of songs you forgot you loved. Admission is free (donations are encouraged) and the event will feature a raffle and shot special.

Make sure you come out to the Puck & Grind 3v3 Hockey Tourney on Saturday, August 3rd. The puck will drop at the famous Johnnys Ice House West (2550 W. Madison Street) where our hockey heroes will battle on the ice for the coveted Puck & Grind cup. This year’s 3v3 tournament feature eight co-ed teams of mixed skill level. Food will be available for free for registered players. Player and goalie tournament registration is still open, but space is limited. Participants are assigned to teams based on skill level.

This year Puck & Grind is benefiting Howard Brown Health

Howard Brown Health exists to eliminate the disparities in healthcare experienced by lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people through research, education and the provision of services that promote health and wellness.

Puck & Grind was created by local athlete and burlesque performer Ali Lawrence with the idea of turning two of her passions into a fundraiser for LGBT/ally organizations. Her goal is to help facilitate more special, celebratory moments for the LGBT community and their straight allies, as well as to spread the message of equality, acceptance, and respect.
